African Diaspora / March 2017 (Issue 35)


 
 
On Wednesday 22nd February 2017, Peel Street Poetry hosted its 3rd annual evening Honoring Poets of the African Disapora. The theme this year was "What's Going On?". The event was free, but proceeds from drinks and donations went to the charity organisation Room to Read: World Change Starts with Educated Children, while Third Culture helped with media coverage of the evening. The event featured tribute performances of Diaspora poems, original pieces inspired by Diaspora poets and an open mic section. Some of the original works performed on the night can be found below.
