Matthew Davies
ImageMatthew Davies is an MFA graduate of the University of Iowa's Nonfiction Writing Program and currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. At 23, Davies, a Peace Corps participant, moved to the Mongolian countryside to teach English. He has published a non-fiction book about his experience in Mongolia titled When Things Get Dark (Macmillian). A chapter of this book won the 2005 Atlantic Monthly prize in nonfiction and another chapter was a "notable essay" in the 2006 Best American Travel Writing series. Davies lives in Washington, D.C.
