Beijing

by Alithini

Balconies as cages
Enclosed dreams
Drums
Flowers
Air-conditioning
Metal cans

He spends hours
In the field of his terrace
With the pigeons
They fly
Greet
Discover

The girl
The friend, with the dog
Of the tobacco shop
2 Marlboro
She takes them out when she sees me
The others do the same

The street of the hotel
The foreigner
Known
Unknown
A! Greece
Older than our civilization

The breakfast
In bamboo baskets
Steamed
Dumplings
And egg
Ground hot peppers

Bicycles
Motorbikes
Cars
The old buildings, few
Decorated with dragons, flowers
Gold-trimmed

Men on the streets
Playing cards
Tea boils
On the fire
Monastiraki*
Constructions

Every where
For the Olympics
Where are you going madam?
I guide you
English
Self-taught

The moon
Watching
Through branches
Next to the river
Electricity wires
Heaven's noodles
