Contributors / December 2016 (Issue 34)

In August 2016, A-FESTIVAL was organised by Kaitlin Rees and Nhã Thuyên of AJAR Press and held in Hanoi, Vietnam. In this special section of the Ninth Anniversary Issue of Cha, we bring together some of the wonderful voices of the festival and celebrate the continuation of its spirit into the new year.

The second gathering of A-FESTIVAL will focus on translation/transnation and will take place in Hanoi in October 2017, co-curated by AJAR Press and Vagabond Press.

A-FESTIVAL is an independent mini poetry festival interested in poetic exchange within and across borders and languages. The activities of the festival include personal discussions, collective book launches and public performances that support the communities of poetry everywhere.

A-FESTIVAL 2016 was organised by writers behind AJAR press and in partnership with Tranquil, Tadioto, BlueBird Nest coffee, Moon Working Space, Hanoi Doclab, Vietnam Artist's Book Project & IndochinaArtsPartnership, together with the generous support from Heinrich Böll Stiftung Southeast Asia & Foundation for Community Educational Media (FCEM).
