Edgar Yuanbo Mao received his BA in English Language and Literature from Peking University, China, and his MPhil in English (Literary Studies) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently a DPhil candidate in English literature (1500-1800) in the Faculty of English, University of Oxford. His doctoral research focuses on the literary and historical contexts of the Rose playhouse on the Bankside, London (1587- c.1606). His wider research interests include cultural and literary theory, early modern English drama, theatre history, and the multiple facets of the intellectual history as well as the rich material culture of the early modern period.
