Emma Zhang was born in Hebei Province, China. She is a recent graduate from the Contemporary English Studies Programme at Lingnan University, where she won the President’s Award in 2009. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, conducting research on the contemporary Chinese-American writer, Ha Jin.
