Dena Rash Guzman lives on an organic produce farm outside Portland, Oregon. In 2011, she was awarded Judge's Prize for best performance at the first ever Shanghai Erotic Fiction Competition and her play Shanghai Cigarettes was performed by the Shanghai Repertory Theater. She founded the literary journal Unshod Quills and she was flown to Shanghai to stage a group performance of her novel A Brief History of Dan Orange of Shanghai for an audience of 250 at HAL Publishing's launch party for its second anthology, Middle Kingdom Underground, to which she contributed two stories.
