Although raised in New England, Kaitlin Solimine has considered China a second home since 1996. In 2000, she was a Harvard-Yenching scholar at Beijing University and a Fulbright creative grant recipient in 2007. She wrote and edited Let's Go: China (St. Martin's Press) and is finishing her first novel, The Soap Tree—an early draft was short-listed for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship and workshopped at the Middlebury Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, which she attended as the Donald E.
